The GEICO Ocmulgee Adventure Race (GOAR) is a 6 hour adventure race featuring paddling, mountain biking, river swimming, and hiking/trekking with navigation throughout. The course is designed for the beginner racers but will provide a good challenge for the experienced team. The course will be approximately 25+- mile long. Experienced racers will be challenged with additional navigation. GOAR is unsupported. This years race will be a combination of Urban and off-road racing.


Downtown Macon, the Ocmulgee River and National Parks around Macon.


GOAR will be raced Saturday, July 28th, 2007.


Solo = $115.00
2 person team = $210.00*
3 person team = $300.00*

The 2007 GOAR is open to solos, two and three person teams, co-ed, all male, and all female teams. Do remember that the elite/pro category for this race is three person co-ed and cash prizes will be awarded to only co-ed teams. This is a USARA sanctioned adventure race.


Elite Co-Ed Category

  • 1st Place = $1,000
  • 2nd Place = $500
  • 3rd Place = $250

All other categories receive awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. And a new Old Town Kayak will be given away at the pre race meeting!
