This is the 4th annual Ocmulgee
Adventure Race. Our title sponsor for the 2nd year in a row is GEICO.
GEICO has been a sponsor all four years. The GEICO Ocmulgee Adventure
Race (GOAR) for 2007 will be a much shorter race than last year and
will bring the City of Macon back into the picture. The race will focus
on downtown Macon and be a combination of urban and off-road racing.
GOAR 2007 will be a great race for beginners. The shorter distance will
be friendly to the novice racer yet we will optional sections that will
challenge the experienced racers. Our goal is to offer something for
all levels of racers.
We hope that the starting format
can allow some teams to travel to the race the day of therefore eliminating
the overnight expenses.
GOAR will end with a finishers'
party fit for a king. Get ready to party! We currently plan to partner
with BRAGG JAM Saturday evening and bring you great music in the wonderful
setting of downtown Macon. More on this to follow as we finalize plans.
OAR is part of New Town Macon,
a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing down town Macon.
All proceeds from the race will go to benefit the construction and maintenance
of the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. For more information about the Ocmulgee
Heritage Trail please visit: www.ocmulgeeheritagetrail.com
